This Refund and Cancellation Policy sets out when refunds may be requested and granted. Review the course description, preview, and instructor profile before purchasing. If something has gone wrong with your purchase, contact us using the channels in section 3.5. |
The following refund eligibility criteria apply to individual course purchases (one-time payments):
Scenario | Refund Position |
Full Refund | Within 7 days of purchase, provided that less than 20% of the course content has been accessed and no certification assessment has been commenced. |
Partial Refund (50%) | Between 8 and 14 days of purchase, provided that less than 40% of the course content has been accessed and no certification has been issued. |
No Refund | After 14 days from the purchase date, or where 40% or more of the course content has been accessed, or where a certification has been issued. |
Technical Fault Exception | Where a verified technical failure on the part of the Platform has prevented access to the course, a full refund may be issued regardless of the time elapsed, at the Ministry's discretion. |
The following terms apply to monthly, quarterly, and annual subscription plans:
Subscription Type | Refund Position |
Monthly Subscription | Refunds are available within 3 days of the billing date, provided no course content has been accessed under the subscription in the current billing period. |
Quarterly Subscription | A pro-rated refund of unused months may be requested within 7 days of a billing date, where access has not been actively used. |
Annual Subscription | A partial refund equivalent to unused complete months (less a 15% administration fee) may be requested within 14 days of the annual billing date. |
Mid-Cycle Cancellations | Where a subscription is cancelled after the applicable refund window, access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refund is issued for the remainder of that period. |
Automatic Renewal | Subscriptions renew automatically. If you do not wish to renew, you must cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date through your account settings. |
The following are expressly non-refundable under all circumstances:
• Certification assessment fees, once the assessment has been commenced or submitted.
• Live masterclass or bootcamp fees, once the event date has passed.
• Course content accessed through a sponsored or gifted enrolment, unless the sponsoring party has a written agreement with the Ministry specifying otherwise.
• Subscription fees for periods already consumed or accessed.
• Administrative processing fees where applicable.
• Currency conversion losses or payment processing fees charged by Stripe or Paystack.
Refund requests for corporate or institutional account purchases are governed by the specific institutional agreement executed between the organisation and the Ministry. Where no bespoke agreement exists, this Policy applies as the default. Corporate accounts wishing to dispute a billing event should contact their designated account manager at partnerships@lwcommerce.org within 7 days of the billing date.
To initiate a refund request, follow the process below:
Important: |
Refund requests submitted through channels other than the above (e.g., social media, WhatsApp, or informal email) will not be treated as formal submissions and will not trigger the review process. All requests must go through the designated form or refund email address. |
Stage | Timeline |
Refund Approval Communication | Within 5 business days of submission. |
Refund to Original Payment Method | 5 to 10 business days after approval, subject to bank processing times. |
Stripe / Paystack Processing | Standard processing time applies. The Ministry is not liable for delays caused by payment processors or issuing banks. |
Currency | Refunds are issued in the currency of the original transaction wherever technically possible. |
If the Ministry cancels or permanently removes a course that you have individually purchased within 12 months of your purchase date, you will be entitled to either:
• A full credit of the purchase price applied to your account for use against any future course or subscription on the Platform, or
• A full refund to your original payment method, at your election.
Where a course is updated, restructured, or moved rather than permanently cancelled, no refund entitlement arises. The Ministry will provide reasonable notice and access to updated content where applicable.
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your refund request, you may escalate the matter to the Ministry's oversight team by emailing disputes@lwcommerce.org. Please include your original request reference number, the communication you received, and a clear explanation of why you believe the outcome was incorrect. Escalated cases will be reviewed by a senior member of the Ministry team and a final decision communicated within 10 business days.
This Refund and Cancellation Policy is reviewed at least annually and may be updated to reflect changes in platform offerings, payment provider terms, or applicable regulations. Users will be notified of material changes via platform notification or email.
